Don’t make assumptions about what reasonable accommodations someone needs, always ask them, rather than trying to guess their circumstances and requirements or think you know best.
Once the changes have been made, the workplace is often better placed to do more business, more efficiently, in the future.
This means they must make arrangements that will enable a person who has a disability to: Reasonable accommodation does not mean that an employer has to recruit, promote, retain or provide training to a person who does not have the capacity to do a particular job.
However, an employer cannot decide that a person with a disability is incapable of doing a particular job without considering whether there are appropriate measures which they could take to support the person to carry out the required duties.
By requiring employers to make reasonable accommodations, the ADA has had a positive effect on the placement of disabled individuals in the workforce, and has raised the consciousness of U. employers while reducing discrimination against the disabled.
The language of the ADA, however, is not precise as to the "accommodations" that an employer is required to make for disabled persons during hiring and employment.
